Part 1
This family of objects is the end result of an exploration in digital form-making. My partner and I explored the way Grasshopper interprets a given input and the formal possibilities within that interpretation.
In short, when given a curve as input, the variable number of sample points used to reinterpret this input creates a spectrum of different curves which approach the original as sample points increase.
From this spectrum, we algorithmically selected curves to arrive at 4 profiles for each of 6 objects. To create the objects, we treated these curves as the profiles of a revolve.
This exploration continued as we sought to express our concept through means of fabrication. See Part 2
