I'm intrigued by the "Eket" collection of shelves at IKEA. In theory they're modular, reconfigurable, and a clean design. In typical IKEA fashion, they seem to fall short thanks to seemingly arbitrary design details, in this case sizing. I can't for the life of me figure out why the module is sized the way it is. It's nearly (but not quite) big enough to fit a standard banker box, egg crate, or tool box. Maybe the sizes makes sense in metric? Anyway, here's a video I made while putting it together last weekend.

Those stick figure instructions are so helpful. :-)
What holds the stacked sections together?
There are clips along the back.
